Kylie Minogue's performance will be seen in more than 100 countries |
Kylie Minogue will perform at this year's Nobel Peace Prize concert on 11 December, organisers have announced. Minogue will be joined by other performers including Alicia Keyes, Annie Lennox and Melissa Etheridge.
The concert in Oslo, Norway, will be held the day after the award ceremony and hosted by Hollywood stars Uma Thurman and Tommy Lee Jones.
This year's recipients will be former US vice-president Al Gore and the UN's climate change panel.
Gore - whose global warming film An Inconvenient Truth won worldwide acclaim - and the panel are being honoured for their efforts to increase knowledge about man-made climate change.
The annual concert is broadcast to more than 100 countries. Also on the bill will be KT Tunstall, Earth Wind & Fire, former Aha singer Morten Harket and Junoon, one of Pakistan's most popular rock bands.
Minogue is currently in the UK top 10 with comeback single 2 Hearts and this week announced a string of European concerts for 2008.
The 24-date tour kicks off in Paris on 6 May and will touch down in Germany, Finland and Sweden, amongst others.
Branded KylieX2008, the tour hits the UK in June, culminating in two nights at the O2 arena in London.
Minogue's last tour was postponed after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2005.
Following treatment, she returned to the stage in Sydney last December with a revamped show designed to be less physically demanding.
Despite the scaled-back dance numbers and the introduction of an interval, Minogue had to cancel two concerts in Manchester in January 2007 after contracting a respiratory infection.
The dates were later rescheduled.
