It was John Barnes's fifth time in the show's 'dance-off' |
Former England footballer John Barnes has danced his way out of celebrity dance contest Strictly Come Dancing. Barnes was the eighth person to be voted off the BBC One show after failing to impress the judges in the dance off.
He found himself in the bottom two with model and actress Kelly Brook, and both danced the samba.
Judge Bruno Tonioli said of Barnes's samba: "It was a murmur, it was casual, it didn't have the impact, the fun."
'Best dancer'
It was Barnes fifth time in the show's "dance-off", and judges were unanimous in their decision to vote the pair off the show.
Tonioli said: "It gets harder every week but I have to go for the best dancer who will give more in the future and that's Kelly and Brendan."
The competition continues next week with the couples having to perform two dances.
The popular show sees celebrities paired off with professional dancers, who attempt to impress viewers and judges with their skills.
Singer Alesha Dixon, TV presenter Gethin Jones, Scottish rugby star Kenny Logan, actress Letitia Dean and actor Matt D'Angelo remain in the series along with Brook.
