U2 have re-mastered their album The Joshua Tree |
Irish rock band U2 have denied reports claiming they were planning a series of concerts at the O2 arena in London. In a message posted on their official website they said: "There are no plans for live dates next year."
The group, who are re-releasing their album The Joshua Tree next month, have urged fans not to buy any tickets if they see them on sale anywhere.
Earlier this year Prince played a 21-night residency at the venue, built inside the former Millennium Dome.
U2 have promised to make any future announcements about gigs through their website.
In 2006 the band postponed the final 10 dates of their world tour because a close relative of one of the band members was ill.
The concerts, which had been due to take place in March and April, eventually took place in December.
