Richard and Judy's weekly book slot has helped boost book sales |
TV hosts Richard and Judy are hoping to boost child literacy by launching a children's version of their book club on their Channel 4 show. School pupils helped producers select eight books for readers aged five and above, to feature on the TV show.
The list includes Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy, Girl, Missing by Sophie McKenzie and Spy Dog by Andrew Cope.
"It's really important that, in this DVD age, kids are encouraged to read as well as watch," Judy Finnigan said.
