Ratatouille, Disney/Pixar's animated tale of a rat working in a Parisian restaurant, has topped the UK and Irish box office in its opening weekend. The film, written and directed by Brad Bird, took �4.4m, beating zombie thriller Resident Evil 3's �931,991.
Ben Stiller's romantic comedy The Heartbreak Kid was knocked off last week's top spot to number three.
And The Kingdom, about featuring FBI agents investigating a suicide bombing in Saudi Arabia, went from two to four.

Simon Pegg's Run Fat Boy Run, about a security guard who signs up for a marathon to impress an ex-girlfriend, went down from three to five.
Keira Knightley's Atonement, based on the novel by Ian McEwan, was just behind at number six.
Two new entries were in the charts at seven and eight - Bollywood thriller Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Hindi film Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, about two cash-strapped sisters in Mumbai.
And New Zealand comedy horror film Black Sheep, featuring genetically-modified sheep was at number nine, while new entry The Invasion, starring Daniel Craig and Nicole Kidman was at 10.
