Hollywood funnyman Robin Williams has launched his own internet site, featuring sketches and conversations.

The Oscar-winning actor's audio site provides a mix of new and old comedy sketches - complete and uncensored.

The 47-year-old will release half an hour of material each week at on the site, RobinWilliamsaudible.com.

The site will eventually include Williams responding to e-mails from around the world, and his conversations with other performers.

Comedy sketches

In one of the samples from Williams' first half-hour, Williams is chief proprietor of Crazy Bob's House of Books - a provider of downloadable novels as read by celebrities.

He impersonates Marlon Brando reading a Thai cookbook, Jimmy Stewart looking over a Jackie Collins novel and Jack Nicholson reading a children's book.

Star Wars guru George Lucas and actors Christopher Reeve and Susan Sarandon will be among the guests to be heard in conversations on the site.

Oscar-winning screenwriter and author of The Cider House Rules John Irving is also set to join Williams in conversation, along with Mouse Hunt actor Nathan Lane and former Governor of New York Mario Cuomo.

"For the very first time, a Hollywood star of Robin Williams' calibre will produce and headline his own audio series on the Web,'' said Donald Katz, chairman of the company backing Williams' site, Audible Inc.

"Clearly, Robin can attract visionaries and thinkers, actors and authors, humanitarians and comedians, all of whom will be outstanding guests.

"The series will present an eclectic mix of entertaining spoken audio available through the immediacy of the Internet to his fans around the world.''

After an initial eight-week discount offer, subscribers will be charged for each internet show.
