The Police opened their world tour in Vancouver, Canada, in May |
The Police have cancelled two gigs on their world tour because lead singer Sting has "serious voice problems." A concert in Antwerp, Belgium on Tuesday was cancelled along with one scheduled for Wednesday in Mannheim, Germany, tour organisers have said.
Sting's official website said he was suffering from a throat infection, adding that doctors "have advised him to rest."
A rescheduling announcement will be made as soon as possible.
Sting, drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers reunited for a world tour in May, 21 years after their last major concert.
They have a gig in Dusseldorf on 13 October, before heading to the UK to wind up the European leg of their reunion tour.
The world tour, which runs until 2008, will then take in Latin America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.
