US rapper TI is leading the charge for the Black Entertainment TV (BET) Hip-Hop Awards, with nine nominations. The Atlanta rapper hopes to follow his success at last year's inaugural ceremony, where he won three awards.
Kanye West, 50 Cent, Common, Jay Z, Ludacris and Lil' Wayne also have multiple nominations.
British artists JME, Kano, Klashnekoff, Lethal B and Wiley will compete for the best international hip-hop act award. The ceremony will air on 17 October.
The BET cable network will also honour pioneering artist KRS-One with the I Am Hip Hop icon award.
Nelly, Kanye West, Common and Lil' Wayne are expected to perform at the ceremony, which will be hosted by comedian Katt Williams.
