Pamela Anderson's ex-husband Kid Rock must appear in court over an alleged assault on drummer Tommy Lee, who was also married to the actress. Police interviewed witnesses to a tussle involving the pair at the MTV Music Video Awards in Las Vegas.
It led to Lee, 44, being removed from the ceremony while Rock, 36, was allowed to stay, although neither of the men was taken into police custody.
Former Baywatch star Anderson was presenting an award at Sunday's show.
Rock was cited for alleged "misdemeanor battery", a charge which can lead to six months in prison, although a police spokesman said such a sentence was unusual.

Eyewitnesses quoted by the Associated Press provided mixed accounts of the fracas, with different sources failing to agree on the circumstances leading up to the run-in. No date has been given for Rock's appearance in court.
The divorce between Rock and Anderson was finalised in February, six months after the couple had married.
Lee, a member of rock group Motley Crue, and Anderson were married for three years until 1998.
