Kerry Katona said she had not been sleeping since the ordeal |
Former pop star Kerry Katona has spoken for the first time about the armed raid during which she and her baby were held at knifepoint at her Cheshire home. "It was the most terrifying night of my life," the 26-year-old told celebrity magazine OK! "I thought we were all going to die."
Her husband Mark Croft was marched through the property by the raiders as they stole more than 150,000 of goods.
After the raid, the star checked into The Priory rehab clinic.
She only stayed for a couple of days and received treatment for bipolar disorder, otherwise known as manic depression.
"I feel the lowest I've felt for a long time and I've had some real lows in my life," she said.
Kerry Katona married Mark Croft earlier this year |
The gang, who were armed with sledgehammers and crowbars, took jewellery, a BMW M5 and a 42-inch plasma screen television. "I'm not sleeping, I'm scared to go back to the house and I get frightened when Mark leaves me alone," she said.
The newly-married couple moved into the 1.5m house in Wilmslow from Katona's home town of Warrington a few months ago.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the violent robbery and have been examining CCTV footage that was recorded outside the house.
Katona left Atomic Kitten in 2001 and went on to win the reality TV programme I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here in 2004.
