Grammy-nominated rap artist Remy Ma has pleaded not guilty to attempted murder and other offences after a woman was shot in New York on Saturday. The 26-year-old, real name Remy Smith, appeared in court on Sunday.

Police found a luxury SUV owned by Remy Ma, which had been involved in a crash, abandoned three blocks away.

Prosecutors said the victim and the rapper knew each other.
Remy Ma's lawyer Scott Leemon said: "I ask everyone to keep an open mind. Things are not always as they seem."
