| Monday, 13 March, 2000, 16:55 GMT Supercar crash halts Clarkson show ![]() Jeremy Clarkson: Filming held up for a day The skids have been put under a new motoring show hosted by Jeremy Clarkson - after a member of the production team crashed a 140,000 Lamborghini Diablo. The man lost control of the car on Monday morning after driving it out of an underground car park in Park Lane, in London's West End. It careered across two lanes of traffic before crashing, leaving its driver shaken but unhurt. Work on the new show, which has not yet been given a title, had to be abandoned for the day while the car was taken to be repaired at a specialist garage.
"But unfortunately, the driver was unable to prevent the car going into a skid." Lamborghini spokesman James Pillar said that although it was too early to assess the cost of the repairs, there was "not a significant amount of damage" to the car. "It will be covered by the BBC insurance policy. The accident is small fry compared to some of the things they take on loan," he said. He said the company would remain involved with the new programme, which is due for transmission over the summer. | See also: Internet links: The BBC is not responsible for the content of external internet sites Top Entertainment stories now: Links to more Entertainment stories are at the foot of the page. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||
