 Baldwin's career spans over 30 years |
Actor Alec Baldwin will apologise to his daughter on national TV for calling her "a thoughtless little pig". Baldwin's pre-taped interview for US TV show The View on Friday follows the outburst he left on his 11-year-old daughter Ireland's voicemail last week.
The message was published online - a court hearing is set for 5 June to determine how it was made public.
Baldwin and ex-wife actress Kim Basinger are embroiled in a long-running legal tussle over Ireland.
Baldwin told The View he is ready to give up acting after 30 years and had asked the NBC network if he could leave his role in sitcom 30 Rock.
Humiliating
But the network said it looked forward to him continuing his role on the show, and a second series has already been commissioned.
The actor's rant, in which he accused his daughter of humiliating him, was apparently sparked by his repeated failure to reach her by telephone.
The message said: "You don't have the brains or the decency as a human being... I don't give a damn that you're 12-years-old or 11-years-old or that you're a child or that your mother is a thoughtless pain in the ass."
Baldwin has been ordered by Los Angeles court officials to stay away from his daughter until a family court hearing on 4 May.
