Timbaland's Give It To Me, featuring Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake, has ended The Proclaimers' three-week run at the top of the singles' chart. The track jumped to number one, ahead of Mark Ronson's Stop Me at two, and Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend at three.
Charity remake (I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles fell to four; Beyonce and Shakira's Beautiful Liar completes the top five.
However Gareth Gates, the original Pop Idol runner-up, failed to make the top ten with comeback single Changes.
The 22-year-old singer, who was dropped by his record company Sony BMG last year, reached number 14.

In the album chart, the Kings of Leon's Because of the Times held on to the number one slot for the second week, with Cascada and Everytime We Touch at two and Take That's Beautiful World a non-mover at three.
In a good week for Justin Timberlake, his album Futuresex/Lovesounds moved into the top 10 to number seven.
Fellow collaborators Nelly Furtado and Timbaland also maintained their top 10 album entries, with Timbaland's Shock Value holding at number ten and Nelly Furtado's Loose rising to four.
Maximo Park's Our Earthly Pleasures slipped from number two to nine. The only new entry to the album top 10 was Mika's Life in Cartoon Motion in eighth place.
