US rap star Snoop Dogg has been held overnight by police in Sweden on suspicion of using drugs. The rapper, real name Calvin Broadus, and a female companion were stopped in by police in Stockholm, who believed they had taken illegal narcotics.
They were taken to a police station but were released after questioning.
"He underwent some tests, that will now be sent away," police spokesman Matt Brannlund said. "In two to three weeks, we'll know if he was on something."
The hip-hop artist could be fined if the tests come back positive, Mr Brannlund added.

Snoop Dogg was in Sweden for a concert with fellow rapper P Diddy and was on his way to a party when stopped by police.
A small amount of narcotics were found in the car, but Mr Brannlund could not specify which kind of drug and said it was unclear whether it belonged to Snoop Dogg.
The 35-year-old is also currently facing weapons and drugs charges stemming from three separate arrests in 2006.
Snoop Dogg came to prominence as part of the 1990s gangsta rap scene, scoring hits with What's My Name? and Gin and Juice.
He is also known for his acting, including a role in the 2004 remake of Starsky and Hutch.
