Mel Giedroyc rose to fame in Channel 4 series Light Lunch |
Comedian Mel Giedroyc has become the sixth contestant to be thrown out of the Fame Academy charity contest. Judges praised her performance of Doris Day's Move Over Darling - but she ended up in the bottom three with DJ Colin Murray and actor Shaun Williamson.
"I may be out, but I'll be breaking back into the Academy," said Giedroyc.
Williamson and Tara Palmer-Tomkinson are the bookmakers' favourites to win the talent show. The final takes place on Red Nose Day, Friday 16 March.
Seven contestants remain in the show, including CBBC host Angelica Bell, BBC Sport presenter Ray Stubbs, comedian Fred MacAulay and Heartbeat actress Tricia Penrose.
All proceeds from the competition go towards projects in Africa and the UK.
