The Killers frontman Brandon Flowers will appear at the festival
Rock bands The Killers and the Foo Fighters will top the bill at this summer's V Festival, to be held in Essex and Staffordshire.

Kasabian, Snow Patrol, The Kooks and Basement Jaxx are also on the line-up for the event, on 18 and 19 August.

This is the 12th year the festival has been held, with bands swapping between venues at Hylands Park, Chelmsford, and Weston Park, Staffordshire.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on Thursday.

Other acts confirmed include the Manic Street Preachers, Amy Winehouse, The Fratellis, Paolo Nutini, Damien Rice and Primal Scream.

Some 150,000 people attended last year's festival at its two venues.
