The Arctic Monkeys have had both critical and commercial success |
Rock band the Arctic Monkeys have confirmed the name of their new album. Favourite Worst Nightmare, containing 12 tracks, will be released on 23 April, with the first single, Brianstorm, out a week earlier.
It will come 15 months after the Sheffield group's first album Whatever People Say I Am, That's What I'm Not became the UK's fastest-selling debut.
It is nominated for best album at this month's Brit Awards, with the band also in the running for best British group.
'Step on'
They will also headline the Glastonbury festival in June.
The band has been quoted as saying their second album is "a bit different" and "a step on".
The quartet formed in 2002 and built a following on the internet before signing with independent label Domino.
Their debut album sold more than 360,000 copies in its first week of release last January.
