Kitchen fight ends with reshuffle
Anthony Worrall Thompson
Anthony Worrall Thompson defected to ITV
Saturday morning's "food fight" has ended after ITV moved its cookery programme to a later slot.

In March last year TV chef Anthony Worrall Thompson defected from the BBC's Saturday Kitchen to front ITV's Saturday Cooks in the same time slot.

But the ITV's audience of about 0.5m was less than half that of its rival, now presented by James Martin.

ITV denied ratings were the reason for the move to an 11.30am slot and said it was pleased with its performance.

An ITV spokesman said: "Saturday Cooks has worked very well for the channel, but all our research suggests that viewers would prefer a later slot for the show."

Martin has been a regular on Ready, Steady, Cook for some time and raised his profile by taking part in Strictly Come Dancing.
