Pop star Britney Spears has apologised for attacking a photographer's car with an umbrella earlier this year. Pictures of the 25-year-old lashing out appeared in several newspapers shortly after photos emerged of her shaving her head in a hair salon.
In a message on her website, she said: "I apologise to the pap for a stunt that was done four months ago."
She said she got "carried away" preparing for a film part but added that she did not get the role.
'Rock bottom'
In November last year Spears filed for divorce from Kevin Federline, the father of her two young children.
She entered into a Malibu treatment facility in February saying she had hit "rock bottom" after their separation but denied her stay was down to alcohol problems.
Spears is one of pop music's most successful artists, selling 31 million albums in the US alone.
In May she made her first stage appearance since her spell in rehab under the pseudonym The M&M's.
