The picture sold for more than $30,000 (15,256).
Omitted lines
The Beatles first recorded While My Guitar Gently Weeps on July 25 1968, using the lyrics on the auctioned sheet of paper.
The lines omitted from the final version read:
I look from the wings at the play you are staging
While my guitar gently weeps
As I'm sitting here doing nothing but aging
Still my guitar gently weeps
The reverse of the page features the lyrics to Hey Jude in the hand of Beatles road manager Mal Evans. Cooper Auctions founder Louise Cooper described the auction as "a once in 20 or 30 years experience".
