The 250,000 jackpot has been won for the first time on the British version of Deal or No Deal, the television quiz presented by Noel Edmonds. Contestant Laura Pearce worked her way through the 22 identical, sealed boxes and picked the one holding the prize.
"I was just in shock for days later. It was a great feeling," said the 24-year-old, who was born in South Wales but lives in Gloucester.
The show will be repeated by Channel 4 on Saturday at 1645 GMT.
"All these streamers came down from the ceiling and these rockets went off, and I was quite shocked," Ms Pearce told the BBC News website.
"I think I remember all my fellow contestants coming towards me, and I just jumped out of my chair.
"I think I cried at some point as well."
