X Factor winner Leona Lewis is certain to top the Christmas singles chart, according to latest sales figures. Her cover version of Kelly Clarkson's A Moment Like This has just hit stores - but it has been available to download since the beginning of the week.
Lewis is expected to beat last year's X Factor winner Shayne Ward, whose single That's My Goal sold 732,000 copies.
Take That are likely to fall one place to two this week, with McFly's double A-side entering the chart at three.
Contenders
"Leona should match, if not overtake Shayne Ward's sales," said HMV's Gennaro Castaldo.
"Nearly five million votes were cast for her in the [X Factor] final, and you have to assume a good proportion of those viewers will buy the single."
On its first three days on release, Lewis' song has already beaten the record for the most downloads in a single week - a record previously held by Gnarls Barkley's Crazy.
Other Christmas contenders hoping to chart this weekend include pop group Girls Aloud and female choristers All Angels.
