Daniel Craig's gritty take on Bond has continued to hold the rest of the week's movies in its iron grip. Casino Royale took �8.5m in its second weekend - more than the rest of the top ten put together.
Borat trailed in second place with a take of �1.5m but Sacha Baron Cohen's creation has made �21.2m in a month.
The Santa Clause 3 came in at number three with takings of more than �1.2m while comedy Tenacious D: The Pick of Destiny, came in fourth with �922,574.

Over just two weekends the new Bond has taken �27.9m, making it by far the most successful Bond at this stage.
New at five was Jackass: Number Two, with Bollywood thriller Dhoom 2 coming straight in at six.
Falling from third to seventh was 19th century magical thriller The Prestige while Pan's Labyrinth, a dark fantasy set in 1940's Spain, was new at eight.
Down five places at nine was dance-based romantic drama Step Up with horror flick Saw III rounding off the top ten.
Bond will be glancing over his shoulder at the musical penguins of Happy Feet which has outsold Casino Royale in the US and which opens in the UK on 8 December.
