Jan Ravens and Anton Du Beke recorded their personal best score
Comedy actress Jan Ravens has become the latest celebrity to be voted off BBC One's Strictly Come Dancing.

The Dead Ringers impressionist and her partner Anton Du Beke lost out despite recording their personal best score.

Ravens said: "It's the closest to heaven I've been and I don't want to go home tonight."

Meanwhile, X Factor contestant Ashley McKenzie's version of Abba's The Winner Takes It All failed to save him from becoming the ITV1 show's latest loser.

The Abba-themed edition saw Bjorn Ulvaeus from the legendary pop band offer singing tips to the contestants.

Ashley and Robert Allen came bottom of the public poll and judge Louis Walsh cast the deciding vote to make Ashley the fifth person to be eliminated from the show.

Strictly Come Dancing won the ratings battle, with an average of 8.2 million people watching the main show and 7.6 million tuning in for the results, according to unofficial overnight figures.

Some 6.9 million watched the X Factor performances, while Ashley's eviction was viewed by 7.4 million.
