Lucas is expected to film his role early next year |
Little Britain's Matt Lucas is to make a cameo appearance in an episode of the hit Australian comedy Kath and Kim. Lucas, 32, is set to film his role when he tours Australia with his comedy partner David Walliams early next year.
"I don't know what I'll be doing yet," he told The Sun newspaper, but added there had been a suggestion he would "play a member of their family".
Previous guest stars on Kath and Kim include Kylie Minogue, actor Geoffrey Rush and actress Rachel Griffiths.
The series, which was created by its stars, Jane Turner and Gina Riley, has been a hit around the world and can be seen on BBC Two and Living TV in the UK.

Inspired by a 1990s fly-on-the-wall series called Sylvania Waters, it sees self-absorbed Kim move back in with her divorced mother Kath, and follows the ups-and-downs of their love lives.
It has twice won the Logie award - Australia's equivalent of an Emmy - for outstanding comedy series.
The BBC bought the rights to a film spin-off of the suburban sitcom earlier this year.
Da Kath and Kim Code, which features a cameo appearance by Barry Humphries, was the top-rated film on Australian TV in 2005, with an average audience of 2.2 million.
