Shakira's single Hips don't Lie has been a huge hit around the world |
Colombian singer Shakira has been awarded song of the year at the MTV Latin America Music Awards. The 29-year-old, who won a clutch of awards at last year's ceremony, triumphed with her hit Hips Don't Lie.
Robbie Williams dropped his trousers before accepting the honour for best international pop artist at the awards ceremony in Mexico City.
Puerto Rican Daddy Yankee, who has pioneered reggaeton - a mix of reggae and hip hop - took artist of the year.
Big winners
This year's ceremony is the first to have taken place outside Miami.
"MTV finally understood that Miami is not Latin America," said presenter and actor Diego Luna.
The evening's big winners were Mexican indie act Panda, who won in three categories - best band, best alternative artist and newcomer of the year.
Shakira is also hoping for success from her five nominations at the Latin Grammys which are to be held on 2 November.
