This Life - Ten Years On will be filmed in London and Sussex |
BBC cult drama series This Life is making a comeback to mark the 10th anniversary of the show. The 90 minute one-off episode, This Life - Ten Years On, will be broadcast on BBC Two later this year.
Amy Jenkins, the creator and chief writer, said: "It's 10 years on and there have been big changes in the characters' lives."
The original cast, executive producer, creator and writer are re-uniting to make the programme.
Among the cast who continued with successful TV careers after the end of This Life are Jack Davenport, Andrew Lincoln and Daniela Nardini.
Series repeat
The series was based around the lives of a group of twenty-something lawyers who lived and worked in London. Throughout the 32 episodes issues such as homosexuality and casual sex were covered.
In the one-off special viewers will discover how the group's lives have changed since they last saw them.
One of them has become a commercial success after writing a book based on their friendship, and a TV production company is keen to film the group's reunion.
Series one and two will be repeated on BBC Two prior to the new episode.
Controller of BBC Two, Roly Keating, said: "This Life brilliantly defined what it meant to be young in the nineties and captured the imagination of a whole generation of viewers.
"It's fantastic that Tony, Amy and the original, world-class cast have agreed to reunite for what promises to be one of the drama events of the year."
Filming on This Life - Ten Years On begins this month on location in London and Sussex.
