Russell Brand was recently voted most stylish man by GQ magazine |
Russell Brand's much-hyped talk show has posted disappointing viewing figures after its first night. According to early figures just 148,000 tuned in for Russell Brand's Got Issues, roughly half the average for the 2230 slot on E4.
It was beaten by almost all its main multi-channel rivals, with BBC Three's comedy sketch show Little Miss Jocelyn getting 259,000 viewers.
The programme had been heavily-trailed on both TV and with a poster campaign.
Brand had been on the crest of a wave after successfully presenting part of the Big Brother coverage.
He received glowing good reviews for his stand-up comedy show, and was voted most stylish man by men's magazine GQ.
A Channel 4 spokeswoman said: "Russell Brand is one of the most exciting talents on British TV at the moment and his E4 series has made a positive start in a competitive digital world."
