The film version of Alan Bennett's award-winning play The History Boys is to receive a Royal world premiere. The Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall will attend a screening of the film in aid of the Prince's Trust in Leicester Square this October.
The History Boys tells the story of a group of pupils competing for places at Oxford and Cambridge universities.
It started out at the National Theatre in London, and this year's Broadway production won six Tony awards.
Among the trophies were best play, best actor for Richard Griffiths and best supporting actress for Frances de la Tour.
The drama has also named best play by the Evening Standard Theatre Awards, the Critics' Circle and Laurence Olivier Awards.
The original London cast all reprise their roles for the film, as does director Nicholas Hytner.
Hytner, who is also director of the National Theatre, previously adapted Bennett's play The Madness of King George III for the cinema.
Following the Royal premiere, The History Boys receives a full UK release on 13 October.
