Richard Hatch was accused of being greedy |
Survivor winner Richard Hatch, who was convicted for failing to pay tax on his $1m prize money, has been moved to a federal prison in Oklahoma. The 45-year-old, who was sentenced to more than four years' imprisonment in May, was previously held at a facility in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
It is unclear why Hatch was moved or if he will serve the rest of his sentence in a holding bay for federal inmates.
Hatch's lawyer said he should be moved to an open prison closer to his family.
Lied
Michael Minns added that Rhode Island or Florida would be more suitable locations for him to serve his jail term.
Hatch, who won the first series of Survivor, was convicted in January for failing to pay tax on his prize money and other income.
The judge said he had repeatedly lied on the witness stand during his trial.
He became notorious on the CBS show, which set on a tropical Malaysian island, for refusing to wear clothes.
