Jayne Kitt voted off Big Brother

Big Brother contestant Jayne Kitt has become the eighth person to be evicted from the Channel 4 show, less than three weeks after entering the house.

She received 67.1% of the public vote against Canadian waiter Richard Newman.

Her constant rule-breaking had prompted warnings from Big Brother about not referring to the outside world.

The recruitment consultant from Slough caused a stir last week when all the contestants apart from her faced the public vote because of her behaviour.

They were punished after Jayne, 36 and a mother-of-one, broke Big Brother protocol by talking about the housemates before joining the show.

During Friday night's live broadcast, the crowd outside the house shouted: "Get Jayne out."

'Naughty but nice'

Speaking to host Davina McCall about her rule-breaking, Jayne said: "I'm cheeky but nice and I just did it for a laugh but I don't think it worked like that.

"I had a really good time in there and I'm glad I was naughty in a way."

She said she had applied for the show "just to prove I could get on, being 36", and because her daughter was old enough to appreciate it.

Pete Bennett remains the 1/4 favourite to win the show and the 100,000 prize.

Following speculation that last week's evictee, Nikki Grahame, could come back to the house, bookmakers Ladbrokes has been offering odds of 100/1 on her return.
