DJ Steve Lamacq is in talks over his presenting options at BBC Radio 1 following a recent schedule overhaul, a spokesman has confirmed. The news follows the decision to give Lamacq's slot to Colin Murray.
From September, Murray will host a youth music show from Mondays to Thursdays at 2200 - replacing Lamacq Live on Monday.
Lamacq is in talks over In New Music We Trust, to go out at 2100 from Monday to Thursday, said the spokesman.
He will continue to host his daily afternoon show on BBC digital station 6 Music.
Radio 1 said the In New Music We Trust shows would "act as one-stop guides to everything that's happening in a particular genre".

Most of the schedule changes will come into effect on 25 September.
Lamacq, who was a journalist for NME before moving into broadcasting, hosted Radio 1's long-running new music show The Evening Session from 1993 to 2002.
The show was instrumental in boosting the careers of Britpop bands such as Oasis and made headlines in 1997 when its founders, siblings Noel and Liam Gallagher, had an argument on air.
A passionate supporter of live music, he once saw 197 gigs in one year as part of a bet.
He published an autobiography, Going Deaf for a Living, in October 2000.
