Rome festival to honour Connery

Sir Sean Connery rose to fame playing James Bond
Sir Sean Connery is to be honoured for his career achievements with an acting award from the Rome Film Festival.

The 75-year-old actor will also host a retrospective of 14 of his films at the inaugural festival in the Italian capital when it opens on 13 October.

A screening of the 1965 film The Hill will launch the retrospective chosen by Sir Sean, which also includes the James Bond classic From Russia With Love.

He said he was "greatly honoured" to receive the Festa del Cinema Award.
