Singer Pete Doherty has been released on bail after his arrest on Thursday on suspicion of possessing class A drugs. The Babyshambles singer, 27, and a 21-year-old man were detained overnight after plain clothes officers stopped a car in Roman Road, east London.
Both men have been bailed until June pending further police inquiries.
Scotland Yard said the pair were arrested on suspicion of possessing what were believed to be class A drugs with the intent to supply.
The arrest came three hours after the singer appeared in court on separate drugs charges.
He was put on a two-year supervision order and given 18 months in drug rehabilitation after pleading guilty to seven charges of drug possession.
Thames Magistrates' Court in east London also banned him from driving for six months.
