February return for 2007 Oscars
Kodak Theatre, Hollywood
The 2007 Oscars will once again be held at the Kodak Theatre
The 2007 Academy Awards will be held on 25 February next year - a week earlier than this year's ceremony.

The 2006 awards took place a week later than usual to avoid clashing with the closing night festivities of the Winter Olympics in Turin.

Nominations will be announced on 23 January 2007 at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California.

This year's Oscars saw race drama Crash win the best film award ahead of the hotly-tipped Brokeback Mountain.

As a result of the change in schedule, the entire nominations and balloting process will take place at a slightly accelerated schedule.

Nominations ballots will be mailed on 26 December, with polls closing on 13 January.

Final ballots will be mailed on 31 January, ahead of the nominees luncheon on 5 February and the Scientific and Technical Awards Dinner on 10 February.

Final polls will close at 1700 local time on 20 February 2007.
