Failure comedy fails to top chart

Failure to Launch topped the US box office last month
Romantic comedy Failure To Launch just missed out on topping the UK and Irish box office chart at the weekend, with Spike Lee's Inside Man still at No 1.

The Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew McConaughey film made its debut at number two, taking �1.08m between Friday and Sunday.

Inside Man, starring Denzel Washington and Jodie Foster, took �1.12m.

Basic Instinct 2, starring Sharon Stone, came in at number six after taking �487,031.

Also starring David Morrissey, the sequel to the 1992 erotic thriller has not had particularly good reviews.

Another new entry at number three was Disney family movie The Shaggy Dog. Timed to coincide with Easter school holidays, it took �831,250.
