British film-maker Sir Ridley Scott is to make a movie about the War on Terror, trade paper Variety has said. Sir Ridley, 68, whose credits include Gladiator and Blade Runner, will direct an adaptation of thriller Penetration, by David Ignatius, Variety reported.
It tells the story of a CIA spy sent to Jordan to find a terror group's boss.
Cinema has started to explore the War on Terror and 11 September attacks, with Oliver Stone's World Trade Center due to be released in August.

Another film, The Kingdom, based on a story by Michael Mann and starring Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, chronicles the attempts a group of investigators' attempts to find those responsible for an attack on US civilians in a Middle Eastern country.
Sir Ridley is currently working on a film adaptation of Peter Mayle's popular book A Year In Provence.
His recent film about the Crusades, Kingdom of Heaven, was praised in some quarters of the Arab world for dispensing with Muslim stereotypes.
And in 2004, the film-maker's 1982 science fiction epic Blade Runner was named the best of its genre by an international group of scientists.
