The presenter married in September last year

The GMTV host delivered the 8lb 3oz baby, named Darcy, in hospital on Friday at 8.17am.

Both mother and daughter were said to be "doing well". Garraway, 37, is married to the former Labour spin doctor, Derek Draper.

"We are both incredibly thrilled and feel very blessed," she said in a statement. Garraway joined GMTV six years ago.

Garraway and Draper, who is now a psychotherapist, married in central London on 10 September, the same day singer Peter Andre married Katie Price and Coronation Street star Samia Ghadie tied the knot with businessman Matthew Smith.

The GMTV presenter previously reported the news on the BBC's News 24 and on Sky's Sunrise programme.
