Busta Rhymes is being sued by a fan who claims the rapper assaulted him when he asked for an autograph. Melvin Smith, 37, alleges Rhymes and his bodyguard Troy Green beat him with their "hands and fists for no rhyme or reason", Mr Smith's lawyer said.
The incident took place at a sandwich shop in New York about six months ago, according to lawyer Bruce Regenstreich.
Mr Smith is seeking unspecified damages against rapper Rhymes and Mr Green, in the civil action in New York.
