French actress Catherine Deneuve has won a lifetime achievement award for her work at the Bangkok Film Festival. The 62-year-old star, whose screen credits include Belle de Jour and Dancer In The Dark, was in the Thai capital to accept the honour.
Other Golden Kinaree winners included Oscar hopeful Felicity Huffman for her role in Transamerica, and South African Presely Chweneyagae for Tsotsi.
South Korean Park Chan-Wook won best director for the second year running.
Indian film Water, directed by Canadian film-maker Deepa Mehta, saw off competition including Transamerica and Mrs Henderson Presents to win the international film category.
Success
Last year's winner The Sea Inside went on to have success at the Academy Awards.
Veteran Thai action star and stunt man Sombat Metanee also received an honorary award at the ceremony.
Other famous names attending the event included British actors Christopher Lee, Rufus Sewell, Charles Dance and US film actor Willem Defoe.
The film version of Broadway stage hit Rent is due to round off the Bangkok Film Festival on Monday.
Film directors Terry Gilliam and Oliver Stone are among those who have appeared at the event to talk about their forthcoming film projects.
