Ms Cashman denied she stole the items

The Irish band took Ms Cashman to court to win back items including Bono's Stetson hat, which they said she stole.

She contested the case in Dublin Circuit Court, saying they were given as gifts, but a judge ordered her to return them to the band.

It is believed the legal bill could run into tens of thousands of euros.

Ms Cashman was given seven days to return the items, which included earrings and a pair of trousers, within seven days of losing the case on 5 July.

Bono gave evidence at the trial

During the trial Bono, real name Paul Hewson, told the court he would not have given away the items, and that they had been taken without permission.

The band brought the case after discovering Ms Cashman was attempting to sell them at auction.

After winning the case, Bono said they had reluctantly brought the action in the context of a larger dispute.
