Comedian Paul Merton is presenting a guide to early film comedy as part of the British Film Institute's (BFI) online archive. The Have I Got News For You star looks at the roots of UK comedy since 1895 in the interactive guide.
"I know this stuff isn't Big Brother but how interesting is that going to be in 100 years' time?" Merton said.
The BFI archive provides vintage film and audio clips free to schools, colleges and libraries.
