Hugh Grant photographed after his arrest for lewd conduct in 1995 |
Art collector Charles Saatchi has bought a painting of the place in Los Angeles where Hugh Grant was arrested for lewd conduct with a prostitute. Saatchi plans to exhibit the landscape at his gallery in London's County Hall.
The modern art mogul has also bought a painting of the spot where Hollywood actress Winona Ryder was arrested for shoplifting four years ago.
Artist Dwayne Moser has produced a series of paintings which are inspired by the theme of celebrity scandal.
American Moser took photographs of the Los Angeles locations during the day and night, and then had the images magnified.
He has said of his work: "I am interested in turning the site of an off-screen event in a film star's life into a backdrop - thus suggesting the very public nature of their 'private' lives."

Moser's paintings were bought by Saatchi from a gallery in south-east London and are expected to be put on show in the County Hall gallery next year.
The Hugh Grant-inspired depiction of Sunset Boulevard is believed to have been purchased for 6,000.
Film star Grant, now 44, was arrested in June 1995 for lewd conduct with prostitute Divine Brown, and fined 800 after pleading no contest to the charge.
Police officers in an unmarked vehicle trailed the actor's car after spotting him picking up Brown in an area notorious for prostitutes.
Grant later apologised for his "insane" act.
