A new midweek chat show with Davina McCall and the return of Doctor Who are among the highlights of the winter and spring season on BBC One. The latest line-up of programmes will also include a portrait of our planet in Planet Earth.
Narrated by Sir David Attenborough, Planet Earth will provide a "definitive look" at the planet's diversity.
BBC One controller Peter Fincham said the "ambitious season" demonstrated "enormous range".
'Exciting'
McCall's Wednesday night show will feature guests and live music.
Guests tipped to appear on the show include Charlotte Church and comedian Peter Kay.
Mr Fincham added: "Since Michael Parkinson left we haven't had a chat show before the news that's in peak time.
"We think that's a rather exciting thing to do, it's exciting to do a chat show that isn't hosted by a man.

"I think Davina is rather special and viewers really like her. I'm really glad she's here."
Other entertainment highlights of the season include Just the Two of Us - a singing version of Strictly Come Dancing - where singers will be paired up with celebrities to compete in live duets.
Doctor Who, which starts in the spring, will see David Tennant take over the role of the Time Lord from Christopher Eccleston.
The 13-part series, which will follow a Christmas special, sees the Doctor and Rose meet Queen Victoria and an evil race of Cat Women.

Among the drama programmes are Life On Mars, with John Simm playing a young detective transported back to 1973, and The Family Man by Tony Marchant.
In Hotel Babylon, Max Beesley and Tamzin Outhwaite offer an insight into the world of luxury five-star hotel living.
Writer Jimmy McGovern returns to BBC One with new drama, The Street, while Stephen Poliakoff brings two new films chronicling recent history with Gideon's Daughter and Friends and Crocodiles.
The Impressionists is a factual drama series which unravels the history of the brotherhood of Monet, Cezanne, Degas, Renoir and Manet.
Other factual programmes include Rageh Omaar exploring The Miracles of Jesus.
