A History of Violence director David Cronenberg is planning to turn his thriller Dead Ringers into a TV series. The Canadian film-maker is working on a pilot episode of a mini-series for HBO, the cable network behind The Sopranos, industry newspaper Daily Variety said.
The 1988 film saw Jeremy Irons take on two roles as twin gynaecologists, who become involved with the same woman.
Cronenberg will co-produce and direct the adaptation, which is being written by Doom writer Wesley Strick.
His next film project is London Fields, based on Martin Amis' 1991 novel about a woman who believes she has foreseen her own murder.
