 Chris Moyles' Radio 1 breakfast show is popular with online listeners |
The number of people listening to BBC radio shows on the internet has grown by a quarter in the past month. Online demands to hear radio programmes passed nine million in February - up more than 25% on the previous month.
The show which is most requested is Radio 4's long-running soap opera The Archers, with Chris Moyles' Radio 1 breakfast show in second spot.
Online listening to digital-only networks, such as 6 Music, has soared by 83% in the last year.

On-demand listening - when a web user chooses to listen to a show after it has been aired - rose to 4.4 million hours.
Live listening hours on the internet increased from five million in January to 6.8 million last month.
Radio 1 and Radio 4 enjoyed the highest number of online listener requests for its programmes in February.
Digital music station 1Xtra also enjoyed a record number of hits, mainly due to its coverage of the Trinidad carnival.
The BBC's online radio player service was relaunched at the end of January.
