Bon Jovi will be taking to the stage
Bon Jovi and Paul Simon have been added to the line-up for the Country Music Awards to be held in New York.

Simon will perform alongside Willie Nelson before handing out the award for song of the year.

US rock band Bon Jovi will team up with Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles on one number.

Other artists due to perform at the ceremony on 15 November include Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Faith Hill and Lee Ann Womack.

A number of actors will also be taking part in the event including Sopranos star James Gandolfini and Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon, who are starring together in a biopic about Johnny Cash.

"The interest from the artistic community to be involved this year really demonstrates the excitement about the CMA Awards and overall appeal and universal quality of the format," said CMA executive director Ed Benson.

"Country Music crosses genres and touches people with stories that speak to the heart and performances that touch the human spirit."
