Singer's fear for missing partner
Patrick Kim McDermott and Olivia Newton-John
The couple have been together for nine years
Singer Olivia Newton-John has said she is still praying for the safe return of her boyfriend more than three months after he went missing.

Cameraman Patrick Kim McDermott was last seen on a fishing boat off the Los Angeles coast at the end of June.

Mr McDermott, Newton-John's partner for nine years, was reported missing one week later.

Newton-John told US show Entertainment Tonight she was finding his disappearance "really, really painful".

The 56-year-old Grease star added: "We miss him. We love him. We're still kind of praying there's a chance he'll come back."

Speculation is really a dangerous thing - it's just really, really hard
Olivia Newton-John
Newton-John met Mr McDermott while filming a television commercial in Los Angeles in 1996, a year after her 10-year marriage to actor Matt Lattanzi ended.

Mr McDermott, 48, set out on an overnight fishing trip from Los Angeles' San Pedro harbour on 30 June and was reported missing when he failed to show up for a family event on 6 July.

His car was found near the marina and personal items were found on the boat. A major search by the US Coast Guard failed to find him.

In August, court papers revealed he faced outstanding child support payments and had filed for bankruptcy.

Newton-John declined to speculate on his disappearance.

She said: "I go back and forth, but speculation is really a dangerous thing. It's just really, really hard."
