Pop star Mariah Carey is to perform on Michael Jackson's charity single for the victims of Hurricane Katrina, his spokeswoman announced on Monday. She will join "Godfather of Soul" James Brown and rappers Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z on the track, tentatively titled From the Bottom of My Heart.
Lenny Kravitz, Wyclef Jean and Missy Elliott are also involved in the song.
Jackson is "continuing to reach out to artists who would like to work on him on this project", his spokeswoman said.
"He humbly hopes [it] will make a tremendous difference to all individuals who have been affected by this tragedy."

Jackson, who was acquitted of child molestation charges in June, wrote We are the World with Lionel Richie in 1985 to raise money for African famine relief.
He is currently in the Middle East but plans to return to the US to record the song.
Other artists said to be participating include Lauryn Hill, R Kelly, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Mary J Blige and 70s soul band the O'Jays.
The single will be released on 2 Seas Records, a label owned by Sheik Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa of Bahrain.
